<p>Agoraphobia</p>
<p>If you hear about someone being agoraphobic, you get the immediate mental image of a recluse who hides from people. You would also figure that a person with agoraphobia would avoid social situations. But if you did, you would be wrong.</p>
<p>You have heard of mental disorders. You might think only mentally unbalanced people become afflicted with these conditions. Though this is simply not the case. Mental disorders include panic attacks, anxiety disorders and social anxieties as well. These attacks can range from mild uneasiness to debilitating agoraphobia and this is a condition that can strike anyone.</p>
<p>Panic and Anxiety Attacks</p>
<p>Your life is going along the normal path that you've set out when suddenly without any warning terror has you in its grip. You feel weak and helpless. Your heart's pounding and you have trouble breathing. You may even wonder if you're having a heart attack or if you're about to die. When you finally go to see a doctor, you might even be told there's nothing physically wrong with you. </p>
<p> So when you next suffer from an attack you wonder what's wrong with you. You find that certain situations will bring on these frightening attacks and this will be your first clue that you're experiencing a panic attack. Panic attacks are not physical conditions, and that is why your doctor might have had trouble diagnosing your complaint.</p>
<p>Panic and Anxiety Attacks what's the difference?</p>
<p>Anxiety attacks are like a feeling of dread. You don't want to do something or go somewhere. You feel uneasy and my have light physical symptoms like an irritable stomach but for the most part anxiety attacks have little physical symptoms. Panic attacks on the other hand manifest physical symptoms such as painful feelings in the chest, heart racing, unable to catch ones breath or a feeling of drowning or choking. Often people use the terms anxiety and panic attacks interchangeably. This is incorrect, but since there is a gray area where they overlap people have become accustomed to using them interchangeably.</p>
<p>Misconceptions </p>
<p> So, what is agoraphobia you might ask then? This is a condition where an individual doesn't wish to go places or face situations where they could become exposed to panic attacks. The very word agoraphobia itself lets us know the nature of this debilitating condition. 'Agora' comes from the Greek language and it means places where people meet, or a marketplace. 'Phobia' is a fear of something. Thus numerous believe that agoraphobia is the fear of crowded places when in fact it's a misconception that agoraphobia is a fear of "crowded spaces.</p>
<p>Agoraphobia Is Related To The Pain of Panic Attacks</p>
<p>Agoraphobia is a condition that develops gradually. In general it occurs after a panic attack. After the first attack you may subconsciously be preparing for another attack and fearing the symptoms that will leave you feeling helpless. This cycle of panic attack and impending panic attack can cause you to change your entire lifestyle just to avoid those feelings of terror. As panic attacks can occur anywhere at anytime, we generally associate the first place that we feel helpless as perhaps the reason for our terror.</p>

<p>As the popularity of Lasik continues to rise, it has become that much harder to choose the right Lasik eye surgeon.  This is because the medical community has made Lasik seem so safe (even though there are always potential complications, just like with any other surgery).  Because of the complacency that has been created, this article seeks to emphasize the importance of choosing the right surgeon and how to properly do it.</p>
<p>The first thing that you will need to do is contact at least 4 eye surgeons.  To identify four Lasik surgeons, ask your family and friends if they have had this procedure done, and if so, who they recommend.   If your contacts can not refer anyone, you can resort to either the phone book or an online search to find a surgeon.</p>
<p>After you have identified 4 surgeons, you will need to confirm that they are indeed certified.  This can be accomplished via your states Board of Medical examiners.</p>
<p>After completing this step, you will visit the surgeons offices for a consultation.  This is your opportunity to interview the surgeon.  You should walk out of the office feeling comfortable and confident of the surgeons abilities.</p>
<p>Of course, you may now be wondering, what am I supposed to do at the consultation?  First, you will gather additional information about how the surgeon performs this procedure.  Don't be surprised if the surgeon tells you that Lasik isn't for you.  Lasik eye surgery is not always a cure all eye surgery.</p>
<p>Additionally, you are trying to get a feel for the doctor.  You want to ensure he places your interests above his own.  As an example, does he seem more concerned with generating a profit than with your actual health?</p>
<p>After you have finished your visits with 4 different doctors, you can choose the one that you feel the most comfortable with.  If you use this guideline, you will feel more at ease on the day of your surgery.</p>

<p>The temptation for something sweet is bound to occur; sometimes we are just sweet chasing yoyo fans. Although some of us are outright 'sweet tooth' followers others are less inclined for 'the sweet' while preferring pungent, bitter, salty or sour tastes. If you are about to take part in sport or have finished a hard physical activity you feel the need to boost up your energy. </p>
<p>Of course the quickest way to lift energy and give a sweet taste is through sugar. We may have refined sugar in drinks and snacks or in unrefined forms through fruits. There are types of syrups such as maple syrup. Maple syrup is highly famous in Canada. There the maple tree enjoys wide recognition and its leaf has been made a national symbol. Maple syrup is gained from the inner sap of the maple tree. Maple sugar is processed from the maple tree. </p>
<p>It is from sugar cane and sugar beet that we process molasses, brown and white sugar. Since syrups are high in sugar they may not be what we need sometimes. There are times when we have the craving for something sweet but do not necessarily need to raise our blood sugar up! Being lax; sitting at the office or lying on a couch at home and not being active may still sprout the craving for something sweet. </p>
<p>A perfect substance can provide something sweet without raising our blood sugar; that is stevia. Stevia gives you sweetness without concern on calories. The best is it can be used by diabetics with high blood sugar. We can purchase it as syrup, in powdered form or as dried leaves. It is versatile enough to replace sugar in hot and cool beverages; and adding a sweeter touch to any food. </p>
<p>Stevia has come all the way from its original habitat in South America. This plant enjoys warm weather but not excessive water! It is tasteful that this plant may not drink high levels of water yet it makes our drinks so sweet and enjoyable! Indeed stevia is actually an herb and we can grow our own stevia! For the greatest sweetness you have had, pick and chew on a stevia leaf! It is extremely potent and when we use it we need only a minor amount as it is far greater in sweet strength than sugar and honey or other syrups. Take the advice of taking a small section of the fresh leaf when you try it. </p>
<p>The level of sweetness varies according to the plants growing conditions. The nutrients in the soil have and do affect the health of plants. When you do plant stevia rely on taking a transplant (a section of the plant) rather than the seeds, which are harder to sprout. It is difficult to imagine that a leaf can be profoundly sweet until you have tried and tasted it for yourself. If you're fortunate to have this sweet plant nearby, and there may be times when you have a sweet tooth, then you might just pop in a green stevia leaf.</p>

<p>Perleche is a term used to describe the superficial fissures that appear at the corners or angles of the mouth. Lesions may result from many different reasons, but most cases often stem from deep labial cracks from excessive saliva buildup, over licking of the lips, unhealthy practices and conditions, presence of bacteria, fungi or yeast. It is also associated with deficiency of the vitamins B, folic acid, and iron.</p>
<p>Perleche is also called Angular Cheilitis, Cheilosis, and Stomatitis. The condition most often occurs with the elderly, and caused by parasitic fungi or a lack of the vitamin B rather than from age; Perleche appears as cracks on the lips that quickly become ulcerated and form crusts if not treated promptly. The elderly have reduced mobility and jaw muscle strength, and use dentures that may be ill-fitting or contaminated with bacteria.</p>
<p>Some symptoms and problems associated with Perleche to watch out for are:</p>
<p>* A case of Perleche often starts when clear and visible cracks or slits appear on the folds of the lips without signs of internal manifestations of any other infection. * There is difficulty in opening the mouth while talking or eating. * The cuts get wider and deeper and bleed when disturbed by movement. * The deep cracks turn into crusts with the presence of pus and coagulated blood. * The lips become highly irritated in an advanced condition which by then may spread internally, thus endangering the individuals over all health.</p>

<p>The truth about looking good and being healthy is less about how much you weigh and more about what comprises that weight. You can be 150 pounds but have 50% body fat and you can rest assured you will not look great naked! People have been so misled when it comes to weight loss that they will try unimaginable things just to get the scales lower. Thankfully, a George Washington weight loss expert has uncovered the truth about how to lose weight effectively.</p>
<p>Its a well known fact that the rate of metabolism of your body is determined by the muscle mass you have. This in turn will also decide how good you will look in your swimwear. Maximum weight loss plans emphasize on making the weight on the scales go down irrespective of whether it is fat or muscle that is lost. One needs to address this fundamentally wrong approach to weight loss. One should aim at loosing fat and not muscle mass as muscles help in burning down more calories. <p>An inch loss in men means the loss of 4-5 pounds of fat whereas in women it means 3-4 pounds. You should aim at maintaining your weight with a uniform inch loss from all parts of the body. To begin with, just measure all the areas and then start building more muscles in your body. Men can just measure their waist since men put on weight mostly on their waist. Women should measure their waist, hips and thighs. The measurement for women should be taken in the following manner:</p>
<p>*Hips- Measurement of hips can be taken while standing with a little distance between your feet which should be same as the hip width. You should take the measurement with the measuring tape placed around the maximum circumference area of your back.</p>
<p>*Thighs- Make a mark six inches above your knee and take the measurement around the thigh at this point. </p>
<p>*Waist- It can be measured at the same level as the naval.</p>
<p>One should take all the measurements on a weekly basis but on the very same day. A visit to the washroom must be made just before taking the measurements to ensure getting accurate results constantly.  A lot of George Washington weight loss centers use this method of taking measurements because is indicates actual fat loss.</p>
