<p>The myth that Weight loss is the game of numbers has been taken on by an expert in the field of weight loss. This expert from the George Washington University tells us that for years we have been made to believe that weight loss means loss of body fat. It is a popular myth that loosing weight will automatically make you look good in a bikini. For instance, a beach ball is much lighter than a base ball, but which one would you want your body to be like, soft and pliable like a beach ball or harder and firmer like a baseball?</p>
<p>The truth about looking good and being healthy is less about how much you weigh and more about what comprises that weight. You can be 150 pounds but have 50% body fat and you can rest assured you will not look great naked! People have been so misled when it comes to weight loss that they will try unimaginable things just to get the scales lower. Thankfully, a George Washington weight loss expert has uncovered the truth about how to lose weight effectively.</p>
<p>Its a well known fact that the rate of metabolism of your body is determined by the muscle mass you have. This in turn will also decide how good you will look in your swimwear. Maximum weight loss plans emphasize on making the weight on the scales go down irrespective of whether it is fat or muscle that is lost. One needs to address this fundamentally wrong approach to weight loss. One should aim at loosing fat and not muscle mass as muscles help in burning down more calories. It also helps you achieve a toned look while wearing shorts rather than the fat. Assume that you have lost body fat, say about five pounds and gained the same amount of weight in muscle. In the mirror it would seem as though you have lost ten pounds but the scales will show no changes in your weight.</p>

These weight loss experts advise their clients to measure their body composition, which can be done with a simple tape privately in your home. All you have to do is measure yourself regularly. Keep an eye on the inch loss rather than a drop on the scales.</p>
<p>An inch loss in men means the loss of 4-5 pounds of fat whereas in women it means 3-4 pounds. You should aim at maintaining your weight with a uniform inch loss from all parts of the body. To begin with, just measure all the areas and then start building more muscles in your body. Men can just measure their waist since men put on weight mostly on their waist. Women should measure their waist, hips and thighs. The measurement for women should be taken in the following manner:</p>
<p>*Hips- Measurement of hips can be taken while standing with a little distance between your feet which should be same as the hip width. You should take the measurement with the measuring tape placed around the maximum circumference area of your back.</p>
<p>*Thighs- Make a mark six inches above your knee and take the measurement around the thigh at this point. </p>
<p>*Waist- It can be measured at the same level as the naval.</p>
<p>One should take all the measurements on a weekly basis but on the very same day. A visit to the washroom must be made just before taking the measurements to ensure getting accurate results constantly.  A lot of George Washington weight loss centers use this method of taking measurements because is indicates actual fat loss.</p>

<p>I receive emails everyday from aspiring lifters all over the world, and one of the most common questions I'm asked is "Do I have to join a gym in order to build a strong, muscular body?" The answer, my friend, is no. With the right equipment and planning you can follow an equally effective bodybuilding program from the comfort of your home without ever having to set foot in a gym.</p>
<p>There may be a lot of factors that make you decide not to go to a gym. Maybe you can't afford the membership, or you don't like the ones close to your home. Or you don't like the guys in that gym.  Whatever your reason, it's ok, there's still chances for you.</p>
<p>Actually, there are a lot of people who think that there's no better place to workout than their own houses. You don't waste your time going to the gym and back. All you have to do is walk the stairs anytime you feel in the mood for some exercise.</p>
<p>If you analize it, there are a lot of benefits of  being in your house instead of the gym. You hear the music you want, you can train shirtless if you felt like it, you don't have to smell the sweat of the guy next to you. You worry about nothing but you and your workout.</p>
<p>When the workout was over, I could sprawl out on the floor in exhaustion and know that my post workout shakes were just a few steps away, and that I wouldn't have to hobble to my car and spend anymore time driving home. It was great.</p>
<p>Ok, there's not only good news. It's almost impossible to have in your home to have certain pieces of machinery such as a leg press or calf machine. And because of that, there'll be some exercises you could not do there.</p>
<p>Even so, that's no bad at all. Ok, that machinery makes your workout easier, but if you don't have that equipment there are still forms to perform similar routines (freeweight substitutions). A proper bodybuilding routine does not require the use of any fancy equipment.</p>
<p>The basic equipment that your home gym should contain is: a) An adjustable barbell with freeweight plates. b) Adjustable dumbbells. c) A bench with incline adjustments. d) A chin-up bar. e) A squat rack.</p>
<p>If you can't afford a squat rack then you'll have to be creative. Don't ever squat without a safe place to drop the bar! Most full squat racks will also provide a chin-up bar on top, so you can kill 2 birds with one stone if you decide to purchase one.</p>

<p>There's a new star on the medicinal mushroom sky. It goes by <i><u>Phellinus linteus</u></i> in Latin. The little known English common name is Black Hoof Fungus. It's far more common, even in America, to hear it referred to by its Japanese name as Mesima.</p>
<p>Common to southern United States and Southeast Asia, <i>Phellinus linteus</i> is a polypore on hardwood trees such as poplar, oak and mulberry. [1]</p>
<p>Unlike most medicinal mushroom species, which were originally used in China or Japan, <i>Phellinus linteus</i> first became popular in Korea as a complement to traditional cancer therapies such as radiation and chemotherapy. </p>
<p>From Korea, its reputation has spread like wildfire around the world. Doctors across the globe are now beginning to use it as an immune booster [2-11], and especially for preventing cancer metastasis. [5,10,12-17] Apart from Korea, <i>Phellinus linteus</i> is particularly popular in Japan, the U.S., and the Middle East from Israel to Turkey.</p>
<p>It may have all began when a 1996 Korean study reported that <i>Phellinus linteus</i> extract exhibited a broader range of immune enhancing and anti-cancer properties than the extracts from other species of medicinal mushrooms. [4]</p>
<p>Years later, American world-renown mycologist Paul Stamets helped deepen our understanding of <i>Phellinus linteus</i> when he published a comparative analysis with the most common medicinal mushroom species: <i>Agaricus blazei</i>, Lion's Mane, Chaga, Reishi, Maitake and Cordyceps. [18]</p>
<p><i>Phellinus linteus</i> had a stronger effect than any of them on the part of the immune system known as macrophages. The activity of this type of white blood cell increased by 5,700% when <i>Phellinus linteus</i> extract was administered in an amount equivalent to 3,750 mg for an average size adult (165 lbs). [18]</p>
<p>It should be noted that macrophages may promote cancer growth as well as fight cancer. The research that has been published about <i>Phellinus linteus</i> extract indicates that it enhances the anti-cancer properties of macrophages. [8,14,19,20]</p>
<p>Additional reports have been published on cases of "spontaneously" regressed cancers, where the patients reported having used <i>Phellinus linteus</i> by their own choice:</p>
<p>1. A 2004 paper out of Japan reported "a hormone refractory prostate cancer patient with rapidly progressive bone metastasis who showed dramatic response to intake of an extract from the mushroom, <i>Phellinus linteus</i>." [15]</p>
<p>2. Next out was a Korean article published in 2005, which reported on a patient who "ingested mushroom called <i>Phellinus linteus</i> for one and a half years" before exhibiting "spontaneous regression" of liver cancer and skull metastasis. [17]</p>
<p>3. And then one year later, in 2006, another Japanese article was published on "a case of spontaneous regression of hepatocellular carcinoma with multiple lung metastases." The 79-year-old patient had been taking an extract of <i>Phellinus linteus</i> Mycelium for a month. When examined by his doctor 6 months later, his tumors had disappeared. [16]</p>

<p>Massage Therapy Careers</p>
<p>People enroll in massage therapy classes for different reasons. There are many people who want to enter a massage therapy class for personal reasons. Some are just curious while others would like to learn how to better achieve relaxing and bonding moments with loved ones. There are however quite a lot of people who are interested in massage therapy class options because of the wealth of career opportunities massage therapy can provide. More and more Americans are simply growing conscious of their health and studies show that massage therapy is the perfect answer for a variety of conditions.</p>
<p>Graduates of a massage therapy class course can choose to put up their own massage facility or work in clinics, hospitals, spas, sports centers, cruise ships, nursing homes, companies, resorts, fitness clubs and health centers. Even without your own clinic or facility, you can still hope to earn a minimum $10-$15 for an hour's work. That's not bad at all.</p>
<p>Informal Class</p>
<p>Not all massage therapy class courses are the same. Most of us know that there are now numerous schools that specialize in massage therapy class courses. But before you decide to make a career out of massage therapy, you could at least try out a few informal sessions just to see if you like the job.</p>
<p>You can always ask around in various medically-oriented colleges, health centers and community organizations about offerings of an introductory massage class course. An introductory massage therapy class would typically give you an idea of how massage therapy began and what various techniques are there. Some classes will also give you an overview of various muscular and health problems that can be treated with massage. Of course, you will also learn the most basic massage forms and movements and when they should be used.</p>
<p>Formal Training</p>
<p>Again, several schools have different offerings of massage therapy class options. Not all schools are the same though. Different schools offer different subjects, different class hours and training hours. You may have to meticulously check a school's program and curriculum before enrolling.</p>
<p>Find out if the massage therapy school's curriculum can provide you with the right number of hours and the proper training for the board exam. A serious practitioner should take the board exam. Some schools will clearly provide details on how their program can prepare you for the board exam. It would be a good idea though to check state regulations first so you can see for yourself if a school is good enough.</p>
<p>You should expect, though, to deal with more than just the many different kinds of massage when you enroll in a formal massage therapy class. In a formal massage therapy class course, you will also be taught pathology, medicine and business. This last aspect is crucial in any good curriculum because it is necessary to enable future practitioners to build lucrative businesses.</p>

<p>It has never easy asking for help, but in golf, it is practically a necessity. Unfortunately, we often ask our friends and partners, when in reality we should take a lesson or two with a professional, usually called the Club Pro.</p>
<p>We probably think that a Pro would be too critical, but in fact,they are honest, positive and usually very helpful.</p>
<p>Golf lessons at the local golf course arent as expensive as you probably think and they are worth it too, since your game will get better more quickly thus causing you less aggravation, making playing golf much more fun for you.</p>
<p>It is of utmost importance to be absolutely honest about your game. The Pro will enquire of you what you think you want to start with: driving, chipping, putting or whatever you feel you need help with.</p>
<p>Listen to the Pro golfer carefully and follow the Pro's instructions. You may have doubts if the Pro alters your stance, your grip or your swing, but really, the Pro does know best.</p>
<p>Oh and dont hesitate to ask the Pro golfer any questions you may have and dont worry about whether your question or concern may sound silly - theyve heard it all before and will not make you feel like an idiot for asking. If you dont get it, tell the Pro that you do not understand. You should never leave a lesson with unanswered questions.</p>
<p>For example, a course of lessons might be to start with one thing during a lesson, or on several things. You might start with a lesson on driving; get the grip, the stance, the swing and the follow-through right in one lesson and then practice it 'for real' for a few weeks until you feel that you've got it more or less right. Next time, you might decide to work on your short game, or putting.</p>
<p>Youve invested in your golfing equipment and it isn't cheap, so it doesnt make sense not to learn how to use it to it's best advantage and improve your abilities, does it?</p>

<p>Green tea is a product that everybody knows about and most people love because of the weight loss miracles that it seems to have been able to induce. The acai berry diet in many ways is similar to the green tea diet because of its power. At the end of the day though, the acai diet has some advantages over green tea that make it a better option.</p>
<p>For starters, the acai berry is a natural product that you can take in. It is a fruit and because of that it fits quite naturally into your diet. Green tea on the other hand is something that might not fit naturally into a person's diet because all of them do not drink tea. It is perfectly valid not to drink tea in your diet, but if a person does not eat any fruits in their diet, they need to make a dietary change in the worst way.</p>
<p>Another difference has to do with the particles that are included within each of the two substances. When you are dealing with the acai berry diet, what you should notice is the fact that it is a completely natural ingredient that you could actually pluck off a tree and eat if you were in the right part of the world. Green tea is not a natural product, but rather a drink taken from tea leaves that contain caffeine. Not everyone likes caffeine or is willing to take it in, which once again gives the acai diet the advantage.</p>
<p>One thing to like about both of the products is that they are easily convertible to other sources. Green tea is present in drink, pill and patch form while the acai berry is available in normal, dry, powder and capsule form. This flexibility is definitely something to be desired.</p>
<p>There is nothing terribly negative to say about either of these two methods of weight loss, because both of them work and have both scientific backing and long term results to prove their points. In the end though, more people are suited to the acai berry diet for the reasons that have been listed above.</p>
